I've been trying to figure out how to color match my bumpers too, but the paint shop I talked to said it can be done, but won't hold up very long. Is anyone for sure about sand blast method working and helping the paint last. Also what's the price range for sand blasting?

There is a product that allows you to paint over chrome. You should be able to find it in a nearby autobodyshop supplier. Its call Acid #8 Etching primer. It comes in a spray can.2-3 real light coats and its ready for paint. It contains a chemical that eats into the chrome to help it bite in.

Ive used this a alot of motorcycle parts for some guys at my bodyshop. They have had it on for 4 years and the paint has never flaked or peeled off. Also did a couple bumbers on an old MG,even aluminum pontoons on a pontoon boat, paint still on years later.
