Ive got an 04 quad cab, 2wd that is lifted by 12 inches. It is cammed and custom tuned. Gears have been changed and a full new exhaust. Ive never had any suspension component issues or any other mechanical issues. But i do maintain my truck and not let things get to where they break or need replacing.

i bought myy 03 Hemi for 9000! it has 125k on the clock and runs like a champ... even though i beat the tar out of it! the only thing is that the 03's have some gremlins in the electrical (my abs light is out, and i cant get rid of the cel) but nothing that affects the performance or longevity of the truck. but if you look for the older ones you can get some sweet deals... also i'd stick witht the Hemi, it gets great mileage on the highway

I have a 2007 QB with the Hemi. I absolutely love my truck. Nothing can touch me in appearance, power or reliability. I personally believe it is the best truck out there when it comes to the big 3. Like others have said, get the Hemi, watch for the front end issues and when you do get one, I would change the plugs and oil right off the bat.

Mike -- I understand your comments! It just won't happen as we'll use this truck in different situations for the family too...
Believe me, my hair is changing color during these high school years.
Would you want a RC though?
Further, if she had a car -- most of those are 5 passenger anyway -- I'd rather her be in a larger rig...
Thanks...

It's like that in the southeast also. Personally I have no earthly idea how the company keeps slipping into bankruptcy. I see more full size Dodge Rams and more Caravans and Grand Cherokees than the offerings of Ford and GM combined! Musta been some BIG TIME mismanagement going on there!!!

+1,000 on getting the hemi. i bought the 4.7, in my '03 QC 2wd, and my MPG was consistently low compared to everyone i knew that had the Hemi (except for the leadfooters). 4.7 is good engine when taken care of, but dang... gettin 14 no matter how hard i tried (including 55mph, coasting in neutral, etc) was annoying. now i got the 5.9 and i'm doing a wee bit better and don't have to try too hard to get 13-14 mpg.
grats on her wanting a truck. that is just sooo cool.
