Default help with a 02 4.7

im looking to buy a 02 single cab long bed 4x4 with around 60k on it. the truck is also a 5 speed...its a one owner that looks and drives like its been babied its whole life. im looking to maybe lift it, or just do a leveling kit. all i want is to have a good stance with rims and tires. would a leveling kit do its justice? or should i lift it...i jus want about 3-4 inches up...

I would say if you want 3-4", lift it. If you want just a more aggressive stance, a level and some meaty tires will do the trick.

Almost everyone who lifts or levels does 35's or better. Leveling will NOT clear 35's in a 2wd but lifting and leveling will.

You could do 3" lift spindles and 1.5"-2" coil spacers in the front (will also need new shocks and clear the right tires and rims. That would cost you about 300 for the spindles, 50-75 for the coil spacers and i guess around 100+ for 4 all new shocks. Lifting the rear can be done with blocks or shackles.

Rough Country sells a 6" lift kit with shocks for 900. Thats the kit I have but with a few additional add-on's.

Be sure to check out our FAQs for more helpful info for what you are looking for

I've got the rough country 2" level and it works pretty good for me. Here's a link.

3" lift spindles would be the best way to go. It is the best on suspension parts. But keep in mind whatever direction you will go you will need an alignment

He is looking at a 4X4 not a 2X4. Alot of people run 35s with a level but 33s would clear the best and if your not going to regear the 33s wouldn't take away too much power.

I am running 305s with the level, just a shade over a 33" tire.... no rubbing and looks great... i got a 2.5" level from hell bent steel, and have had no problems with the level and i have had my truck through some rough S**T..... just check out my albums under my profile to see what ya think...
