Lifetime Powertrain warranty ripoff
I just took my 2008 Dodge 1500 4x4 to the dealer for warranty work on the steering and shocks and they said that the lifetime powertrain warranty would not cover it. They said that there was too much mud under the truck and that caused the problem. I told them that I lived in a county with a lot of dirt roads. Does anyone have experience with this? My vehicle only has 24,000 miles.
Neither shocks or steering is covered under the Lifetime Powertrain warranty. Only the Engine, Transmission, front/rear Diff's, and the transfer case are included. Everything else is not.
Now, if you have a 3yr/36kmi that is still into effect, then yes they should be covering it. I was just denied warranty to replace my Instrument cluster because I had too many aftermerket electrical items that caused issue's which they did not, just like your mud.
Get yourself either Rancho's or Bilsteins, inspect your BJ's and replace if even slight wear, then get it aligned and be done with it. You'll never get them to warranty it unless you can wash it all down nice and then go to another dealer???

Not power train but is under the 3/36 bumper to bumper. I'd fight 'em on it.
I play golf on occasion with my local service mgr. and I know he's told me that he is under tremendous pressure to deny every warranty claim he can get away with.
Many times they'll deny knowing full well it should be covered on the chances that most people won't put up a stink.

And you know what Hammer, I know a girl who works here at the local Dodge dealership and she handles invoices and payments from customers and we used to go out to lunch together from time to time. Even she said she wanted to tell some customers how they were getting ripped by the dealership on certain things but she didnt want to lose her job.
All dealerships are crooks. They are just as bad as lawyers.
