Default New to this site and have questions about my truck!

I first off wanna say I've been a dodge enthusiast all my life and am ecstatic to have found this website! Anyway, I'm fixing to buy a 2.5" leveling kit from HBS, but my biggest concern is the charge for installation. What's the average cost of installation? and what are some tips for a D.I.Y. leveling kit installation?

Next, I have a chrome Grille, front bumper, rear bumper, fuel door (or gas cap, whatever the name of it is), and 20" rims (only perk with those is that they came with 33" A/T). I just wanna say that I'm not a big fan of chrome and that bling stuff, no offense to anyone who does; it's just not for me. I want to paint the front bumper the matching color of my truck (inferno red), the rear bumper
black (or do you guys suggest I go red), I want to get a stock matching gas cap ( I don't know where to get one from though), and I wanna do my grille like this:
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...w=1280&bih=611

Can I paint over the chrome or do I need to get replacement parts? Also, are those parts even real chrome or plastic?

Thanks guys!

the grill you can paint just sand the area you want to paint and since its plastic you can use krylon fushion paint and it hold up real well in the sun ive used alot of it....the level lift alot of these guys do it in there driveway, and my opinion on the bumpers is all color matched not one and another but matching either go both black or red....gas cap paint it black or color matched easiest way to cover it up, or find somebody on here willing to trade....

thanks man that means a lot. I'll definitely keep everyone posted....I'm more than likely going to do the leveling kit myself. And what's everyone's opinion on wheel spacers? is it worth it?

The gas cap is probably a cover you can pull off to reveal the original one (same color as truck) Just take some fishing line and "saw" the 3m tape holding the cover on...At least mine was a cover. I pulled it off, painted it and taped it back on.

The spacers push your wheels out, so you only should get them if you need the clearance...look at my thread in 3rd gen general discussion about new tires and you will see how much they stick out

Welcome aboard! I also got rid of my chrome, so I am right there with you....

I bought a replacement grill shell that was not chrome and had it painted. I did my bumpers in black.
