Default Headlights.... ur opinion?

Ok i need to do something with my headlights, they are throwing off the style of my truck.... Now i would like to paint them but honestly i do not trust myself doing it esp. with puttin them in the oven im sure i would mess it up somehow and then have to buy a whole new headlight. What do u guys think about headlight covers? i know sometimes they dont looks good but i think they would on my truck where the whole front end is black. what do you guys think?

Maybe a light coat or two of vht? A lot of covers out there are way too dark.

headlights are good, especially for driving at night. I highly recommend them, plus you'll get a ticket without them.

Oops, sorry. I only read your thread title first.

Yep, gotta agree, the stock headlights just don't go with the "blacked out" look. I know a few guys have the covers, mainly to protect the headlights off-road as these are "hunting guys". Some leave them on all the time, some remove them for night driving on pavement. I see nothing wrong with getting a cover...

haha hammer, well would covers look ok though? would it give them a cheesy look? I like the way matt99 did his covers, but i watched the dyi and he said you have to put ur headlight in the oven to keep it from foggin or something and i was like yeah just my luck i would end up doing something wrong.

You could always look for a used set on CL to try that with ^^
If you go with a cover get a "smoked" one

One of my buddies has a set (I'm thinking the company is AVS or something like that). He's got them in smoke (I think they come smoke, clear and something like a dark amber) for his headlights and tails. Like I said, mainly to protect them off-road. But they snap on and off and unless you get right up to them, you can't tell they are covers...

I didn't use covers and the "covers" look like crap, if u don't wanna do the outside then order lamin-X covers (which is a tint not a cover)
