Default Having problems finding aftermarket Filter for CAI

I have an Airaid CAI for my hemi 5.7L. Ive been trying to find another filter for this thing....possibly an Amsoil eaAU filter but....im having problems finding the same dimension air filter with the same flange size. My filter specs are

5" top
8" bottom
7.5" long
4.5" flange

but most of the filters im finding for that size flange are smaller....like

base 5.875 Flange 4.500 Length 6.000 Top5.0

and all the filters that are closest to my filter have 6" flanges....and no one carries adapters for a 6" to a 4.5" application...at least no one that i have seen....checked spectre and K&N and numerous other places and i cant seem to find any sort of adapters for that size....

so my main question is......how close does the filter size actually need to be...it seems no one makes an aftermarket filter for Airaid CAI that is close to my application without it being 1.5inch bigger flange than i need...or Airaid just made a funky mix of measurements so you would kinda be forced to buy their filters.

Could i get away with 5.875" instead of 8" for the base?? could i get away with 6" length instead of 7.5? I dont want to rob the beast of the air it wants but finding air filters are a pain in my *** and i kinda want to go with Amsoil EaAu filters.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think changing your dimensions like that will rob you of any air flow.

no? I was thinking that the flow really shouldnt be affected.....that it would just be the amount of surface area you have for filtering the air...but id rather be 100% sure before i jump and get a smaller filter....thanks for the reply though

As long as the inlet size of the future filter is the same as the inlet on the intake the rest will not matter as long as you have the room to fit it? Have you called Airaid and see what thy suggest?

No...i dont...its just the standard Airaid CAI for a 5.7L hemi...the specs of the filter are up top....i thought the same thing also about someone not having an aftermarket replacement for it. but most that come close to it are different sizes like i said....very weird

Thanks for the input, with having a 7.5" length filter..i still have about 2in till i hit the edge of the box...and most of the filters arent that long except for 1 oval one that is 10"......the rest are an inch or so shorter than the OEM airaid one.

your input help me decide that ill try the little smaller one with the correct flange diameter.
