I will back up my K&N CAI all day...but as far as most brand intakes go, they are all closely matched and basically do the same thing which is to pull more/colder are in. I'm talking about K&N S&B airaid stectre volant...all are closely matched in results, but some cheaper than others.

After my experience, I would have just gotten a Spectre CAI w/ K&N filter for less than half the price of my current K&N CAI...kinda don't like how space it takes up in the engine bay anyways....so yeah I would recommend spectre or s&B

Bunch of DIYs floating around on this. I think I've made about 8 of 'em now for other folks. Swing on by, bring a 12 pack and about $65 to go parts shopping with...

Must be a pretty quick and easy fabrication job?

Ive been making these for a while now. They flow just as good as a K&N or S&B and are more than half the cost.

About an hour and a half, about the same amount of time it takes me to drink a 12 pack.

Two I've made for members:

I have the AIR RAM CAI. Not the best and is far from being eye candy but it works good.

It's attaching the CAI to a bracket I fab'd up and attached to an existing bolt on the firewall. Just some support so the thing don't move. Basically a modded aluminum bracket that was about a buck and looked like it would suffice. I didn't want the filter sitting on the airbox, but rather suspended just off the bottom. That's Cwboyjohnny's truck. Ain't seen him around here or any other forums in a while...
