Default Should I remove my lift kit?

I've got a 2007 Ram 2500 with a Tuff Country 4.5" lift kit currently installed. I was thinking about removing the lift. I don't know if this is a good idea or not. It's about time to get new tires, and I'm more concerned about mileage and tire life, than looks.
Any ideas or concerns?

Thanks.

Well, a lift and big tires will definitely kill MPG. When I went from the stock setup, to the Carli Starter System and 12.50 Toyo's I lost 3 MPG hyway, and about 2 mixed driving. That said I would hate to go back to stock.

well, lowering and smaller tires is a sure way to gain back a couple of MPGs, and if your lift is ONLY for looks, and you don't care about the look, why not?

Ask yourself this...Will the time it takes or cost if not doing it yourself overcome the slight loss in MPG's?
If you need to pay someone, then your better off keping it on, unless you think you can recoupe some of the expense selling it? I'm not sure what those kits sell for?? Also not sure what stock components you would need that you don't actually have either other than the obvious such as new shocks..etc.

You need to figure out prices both ways and figure if it's worth it or not.

What do you want the truck do for you at the end of the day? Do you need the lift? What will it cost to put it back to stock? Is someone willing to make a trade and do the work? Will you want the lift back on later? I suspect it is not worth it just for improved gas mileage. Maybe changing tires to more of a road thread design would help. Maybe trade in time? You are paying the bill, you have to decide.

In retrospect the big tires hurt my mileage much more than the lift did.
