Default 06 Power Wagon

Ok guys I am a newbie here so I have an 04 1500 quad cab 4x4. Found an 06 power wagon about 200 miles away that seems to be a good deal. I love the 04 just cant pull what I need to anymore. I am driving up to Dallas to look at it on friday and lord willing maybe drive it back home. I was looking for some advice on problems to look for on the power wagon packages. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Tabor

I think I am in the correct posting place.

Do you understand what makes the power wagon special?

Well if you dont here it is.
They were designed for go anywhere traction. They come stock with 33 inch tires, rock rails, front and rear electronic lockers. This is the jeep rubicon of trucks. The truck also has 4.56 gearing which will help towing and power. The also have a electronic sway bay disconnect that allows better suspension travel while under 15 mph. In case all this cant get you were you wanna go there is a 12k warn winch behind the bumper to keep you moving.

I would check the underside and make sure it wasnt beat off road. Look for scrapes and dents.

If you get I would be very jealous.

yea you are looking at buying a specialty truck...its got a hemi and strait axles so its like a 3/4 ton, but is your 04 a 4.7 or hemi? because it wont be able to pull that much more if yours is a hemi

The power wagon is at 10500 i think. That is a lot better than what a halfton can do.

2500's can pull more with the same motor as any 1500 because of their frame strength and overall weight. Your towing wight cannot exceed your vehicles weight by only so much so that is why they can tow more. Plus the gearing bumps it up too.
Megacabs are an exception to this rule because of their added weight and length compared to the standard 2500 QC's and also because of their classification Dodge gives them.

I'm pretty sure the Power Wagon can't tow quite as much as the equivalent 3/4 ton.

And heres the 3/4 ton rating: http://carreviewsandnews.com/2004dodgeram2500.html

The Power Wagon is a 2500. I just picked up an 06 myself. With those high gears it will pull a freakin house. Gas mileage is worse than my 99 2500 with 360 and 4.10's but it was worth it. Take a look under the Power Wagon. The frame is all beefed up with cross members. I was looking at the new Ford Raptor but they are out of they're minds on the price and they won't budge. Don't think that Raptor would go where the Power Wagon would. Winch or no winch. Glad i got the Wagon. I love it.
Just my 2 cents.
