Another oil thread
I took that data and analyzed it. Using the optimum performance numbers set by SAE with 10 being the perfect conventional motor oil here is how it breaks down.
7.32 Kendall
7.27 Quaker State
7.27 Pennzoil
7.24 AutoZone
7.19 Advanced
7.15 Proline
7.11 Mobil
7.06 Citgo
7.05 Castrol
7.05 Shell
6.90 Supertech - Wal-Mart
6.90 Exxon
6.85 Valvoline
6.79 Havoline
6.75 SureGuard
6.68 CAM2
Why, yes, it is what I do for a living. I gave all categories the same weight on the belief all ingredients at optimum levels work together to perform perfectly.

Isn't proline that company that had oil product infomercials where they ran the oil through drained it, then ran the engine???
They all meet SAE specs and that's what I pay for. Quaker State has a good rep though.
I used AutoZone in a pinch once...once.
