So first I get out of work at 8AM this morning and my buddy says "hey i got a check engine light on my truck". I said lets see what it is ill use my SC to scan it and tell you what it is. Look in center console where i always keep it and its nowhere to be found. I got pissed, flew home tore my house apart and its gone. Its weird because i live in a rural area where chances of it getting stolen are slim and even so, i never leave my truck unlocked. Now i am out taking a second look over my truck to make sure it didnt slide under a seat and as i round my passenger side of my truck, i see white speckles all over my truck. Apparently I hit one of the white lines after rounding a corner and finding a PennDOT truck painting lines last weekend. Now two questions, what do i do about my superchips and how the f**k do i get that paint off of my truck!!!
(Sorry bout the long rant. Just had to get that off my chest)

 

Nothing you can do about the SC if it is lost or stolen except report the S/N to SC so they can flag it.

As for the paint speckles, go get a clay bar kit if you dont have one already and use it to remove everything

 

Whats the status of the tuner? Is it currently VIN locked to your vehicle? If it is then it will need to be unlocked before anyone can use it. Like Weed said report it so it will be flagged when they try to get it unlocked. Keep a eye on eBay and Craigslist. Hope you find the SOB that stoled it.

 

Yeah its locked. I have been looking and watching hoping someone slips up. I also wondered if i could call superchips and see if someone tried to unlock it and they got any info from them. Even a name off of a credit card or anything to try and help. Like i said i live in a pretty rural area and know most everyone in this town. It would be nice if i could get info track them down and dent their forehead and take my tuner back. (If they still have it in their possession)

 

Weed that was what my buddy first said was use the clay bar. I will probably give that a try, just didnt know if there was any tips or tricks to get highway paint off. Its all over tho.

Ewww.......you got a lot of it. Maybe Goo Gone or another soft solvent will help get most of it off before you try the clay bar because that is a lot of it

Haha thats what my dad sadi cjs4444. He told me to file a claim. And weed do you think goo gone would ruin the clear on my truck at all?

 

IDK honestly bro. Call some paint and body shops local to you and explain to them what happened and ask what they suggest you use to remove it

 

Wow excellent idea man, cant believe i didnt think of that. I guess i was so worried about getting it off i didnt think that far ahead. I think im might call the DOT and see what they will do too. Thanks man!!
