Default Power Wagon Upgrades

Hey Guys,
Short story is because of my old lady leaving I had to part with my Cummins and now have an 06' Power Wagon. I regularly tow a 24' Livestock trailer (tandem 7Ks) gooseneck. The truck hangs pretty good with the 4.56s but am looking for some MPG/torque gain or perhaps something to make the drivetrain survive a little longer(i figure i'm on borrowed time with this setup). I know I should go back to a Cummins but thats just not in the cards right now. What do you guys recommend? With the exception of airbags I'm starting from scratch and don't forsee a trade in my future. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I need bang for the buck....it looking and sounding cool..while it would be nice... is low on the list right now

I also realize that ya'll have probably hashed this out many times for new guys like me....i'm a single dad with very little time on my hands...have some mercy

a programmer, CAI, and exhast would help towing. A cheap mod if you can swing the time is to switch to an electric radiator fan which would free up some ponies and MPGs

the first thing we usually tell people is get 4.10 or 4.56 but since your PW already has that you dont have such an easy option to increase towing.

^^^ Yeah, those are usually the basics. What size tires are you currently running?

Also if you are towing regularly you may look into an extra capacity differential cover and transmission pan. The more fluid you have to lube your trans and diff the cooler they will run and the longer they will last.

options would include PML pans/covers, Mag-Hytec pans/covers, and I am sure there are others, i am just not as familiar with the 2500 world of parts.

A Superchips flaspaq, a Magnaflow muffler, and a Airaid M.I.T. (Modular Intake Tube) have been worthwhile upgrades for my Power Wagon. My fuel mileage improved by about 1 to 1-1/2 miles per gallon with a noticeable increase in throttle response/power. Good Luck!

The stock tires on the Power Wagon are BF Goodrich All-Terrain LT285/70R-17s. That equates to 33".
