Default Pics update! Black emblems and grill insert

So, I want to continue my progress of painting the chrome parts black to match the new wheels. Check out the progress to date.....blacked out the grill insert and the ramhead emblems! the pics may not be the best quality and you can see some dirt or smudges, but rest assured, there are no blemishes on the tailgate or the grill!

up next, the headlights and prolly the tails too. I'm looking at getting the night runner lights.

Those look great, really gives it nice contrast.

What did you use to paint?

Plasti-dip. Love the stuff. I know it's not really a long term solution, but so far it's been all good and it's been a few months already. I used it b/c I'm only doing "small" stuff.

Did you pull the badges to do them or did you just tape them off?

You can get Night Runner lights at a good price as long as you don't mind the amber reflective strip at the bottom.

the emblems - just taped them off. The tailgate emblem was easy as pie! The emblem on the gril was a bit more tricky as it seemed to be imbedded deeper into the trim so making sure I had clean lines around it was trickier, but it worked out.

the grill insert, I took it off and sprayed the hell out of them, prolly 6 or 7 coats and popped it back in.

yea, I've seen them for about $200 for the set, not bad. I hate the amber strip, but I think I would rather deal with that than trying to paint mine which includes the whole oven baking thing.
