im thinking of buyin a 2003 dodge ram 1500. it has the 4.7 v8 and i wanted to know how this motor is. i really like the hemi but found a good deal. what kind of mileage can i expect and are there any problems that routinely occur with these motors. thanks

The mileage is about the same with a Hemi. If you tow much, you may want to find a Hemi-equipped one. Apparently, the 4.7s over-heat, but I don't know how many actually do.

Edmunds.com can help you determine how valid the deal is.

If you can find one for a good deal, get the Hemi. That added power is nice!!
