Question Footwell LEDs?

Hello,
I have an 07 quad cab and I'd like to add some LED footwell lights under the dash on both the driver and passenger side, maybe even under the front seats also? Is this possible? If so, what would be the best way to do so? Would an LED light strip be a good idea? I was thinking if its possible to splice into the interior lighting circuit (same wiring that powers overhead map lights, and dome light) any suggestions or response will be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't done this in a RAM, but did do it in my "soon to be previous" vehicle with external lights.

LEDs draw very little power, so you should be able to tap into any 12v live-stream wire. For example I used my DRLs.

I do recommend using a on/off switch though because depending on the color and brightness you wouldn't want to give the police any more reason to pull you over.

Agreed, LEDs are cheap and easy to install. There are more than a few threads on this here. But as said above I would install them with a switch because there may be times you do not want them on. You could wire them from a switch that gets fed from the exterior lights so they come on with them but flipping the switch turns them off. Ebay is your friend for LEDs in bulk and cheap.

I used 2 LED strips under my dash and they are more than bright enough. I used a hidden on/off switch as well to keep from being hassled by cops. I also just zip-tied the strips up out of sight. You can tap power from anything close for LEDs, I tied into a line I had run to the battery for other things in my cab.

Dude I did this to my truck it is a 07 as well. I bought some Led strips from Harbor Freight in blue. I actually have 3 mounted one in each foot well and another in the cup holder area. I have these wired on two separate switches, as I don't always want the cup holder one on, but usually leave the foot wells on however have the option to turn them off if wanted. I taped into the cigarette lighter hot lead so when the truck is turned off the lights automatically shut off when a door is opened even if I happen to leave the switch on... Here is a link to what they look like, along with a blue led dash convert.

I bought 2 strips of red LED's from superbright. I used automotive trim tape (3M) and mounted them under the dash in both footwells. I tied them in to the interior dash lights. If you take the left "Oh ****" hand off and the plastic cover off of the left front pillar column, If I remember correctly, the (+) is pink with a brown stripe and (-) was brown. Just use scotch locks to make the connection. They work beautifully! The fade out just like the other interior lights and they only come on when the interior lights are activated.

Do we have a dodge forum discount for V-LEDs?

I think I'm gonna go with 4, 12" LED strips from them, 2 in the front footwells and 1 under each front seat?

and a quick shot out to our veterans!
