Default Homebrew CAI on the cheap!

Here is my homebrew CAI I made out of PVC, a BBK filter I had laying around, and an old shredder box. The sound is AMAZING. It sounds like a 4 barrel carb opening on an old big block.

What is the cannister over by the brake booster with the small conical filter on it?

It is a catch can I had laying around for the breathers. I didn't want to route it back to the intake so this way it catches the oil mist and I can drain it when it fills up.

Yeah basically just a large can of any size with two holes, inlet and breather, and a drain on the bottom. This one has a site guage built in as well to see the level of oil in the can.

Should be a media type filter in it also and it should be at a lower point than the intake or else it is fighting against gravity.

These lines should be pressurized under hard acceleration. Gravity will take over when the mist collects in the can. I can see your argument if I routed it back to the intake to make a loop, but I have it open with a breather.

I haven't had it on for one oil change yet so I will have to get back to you on that one. I collected quite a bit with it on my turbo car though.

Thats because it is normal for turbos to have blow-by due to higher internal pressure. Dont expect no where near as much (if any really) in that can on your truck. And IF you do have any then you know you have internal piston ring wear.
