Looks awesome! I have the 2009/2010 Factory 20's I've been thinking about painting. How much prep work was involved. Also what kind of paint did you use?
My truck is pretty close to murdered out. Tinted Headlights, 2.5% Windows + 35% Windshield. Etc. See pic in sig below!

Ya i was thinking of just painting them, we'll see.I was a little concerned about it holding up.As far as prep work i took the wheels off sanded them real good then cleaned them with some automotive cleaner i got from my buddy at NAPA. Then i did like 2 coats of self etching primer then 3 coats of Dupli-Color wheel paint. I'm pretty happy how they turned out i have a few spots i need to hit again. Not bad considering i was gonna spend about a grand on new rims that were gonna be black anyway and i did these for like $25.00 and it was kinda cool cause a couple guys at work asked how much i paid to have my wheels done and one dude thought they were new rims.

I think it looks good man...and if you keep doing the "stormtrooper" look it will look really custom. They look close to my powdercoated rims. And just paint the nerfs

Im not a fan of chrome either. I think those rims are looking great! Hopefully your finish holds up. Is that plasti dip pretty strong?? I would of prolly went with a black powder coat. I want to ditch my chrome rocker panels, and color match armor guard. Then black out my stock 20s too.

Got the stuff to do the nerf bars today. Will post some pics when i get them done. Does anyone have any experience painting over chrome as far as prep work, cause i was just gonna tape off the step pads and scuff the chrome part real good with some sandpaper, couple coats of primer and then about 3 coats of the paint.
