Default Rear pinion seal

So when I rebuilt the rear end I installed a new pinion seal - it was leaking and now the new one is leaking - I bought one from the dodge garage and it was double lipped - any thoughts on a quality seal. Thanks!

Was there a groove in the flange where the old seal ran?? If so you must take care that the new seal lands in precisely the same groove or in a different spot on the flange!!

Also, did you seal the threads on the pinion nut??

Leaks are a PITA!!!

Hmmm no I didn't seal the threads - never heard of that. Not sure what groove your referring to - you talking a groove around the housing??? I'll try a NAPA one and see what that does. Thanks.
