Default please advise: quality ?? of Rough Country Lifts?

I have a line on a RC 5" lift silly cheap- and a buddy who runs an off-road fab company who will install it for peanuts..

Who here runs w/ a rough country suspension lift? What are your thoughts on its quality and durability?

Thanks in advance..

They dont make a 5" but they do make a leveling kit (2-3") and a 6" lift.

I had an older 6" RC kit and now I have the newer one with the cross member drops. it is all very heavy and well made. I have zero fitment or installing issues. I installed all of it myself.

If you have any specific Qs just LMK. You can click on the link in my signature to look at my lifts

4-5" suspension lift..

I'm glad to hear the quality is good.. there are a ton of Jeep owners I know who despise RC.. The issues, though, are with the springs.. It is suspected they are not pre-stressed, and therefor settle un-uniformly after a couple years use..

I have an '02 (and it currently has a RC Level kit on it), and I have torsion bars, so I have now worries about bad RC springs.. I just don't know much about the fitment, the quality of steel and casting... such like that..

well sir, first I said 5" RC lift, which wasn't a question of whether they made one or no. They DON'T for a 2WD, so that pretty much narrows mine down to a 4WD to a person familiar with the RC line-up, which you obviously are.. You did some assuming there pard, and were no doubt really happy to contradict the basis of my question, and for reasons unknown..

Now, if a person answered who had experience with a RC 5" lift, they would have known exactly what I was talking about, and would hopefully had shared their experience/knowledge.. 'No response', would have told me it wasn't something anyone here had experience with, which is fine.. Being scolded by some kid for not mentioning my truck is a 4WD, when a specific part(system) was the subject of my question is NOT what I was looking for, and is but a part of an ongoing issue on this board.

this is the reason I avoid the 3rd gen board even though I drive one..

thanks man.. I keep hearing bad things about RC springs.. they seem to have issues there.. I was looking at a FabTech or a ProComp, but it looks like the ProComp won't work with a 46RE for some reason..

The question in my mind is if the coils are so shoddy, what about the rest of the package, even though I don't have to worry about the coils?

I wouldn't even be considering it, but dang- $600 to my doorstep as a complete kit (w/shocks, boots, guard, all of it) is making me rethink my position.. The O.R. Fab guy, who is a buddy, says he has no problem with them installing, and that they match right up- but he has some reserves, like everyone else, concerning the springs.. This kit won't have those, so I really don't know if that eliminates the question of quality or not..

I guess we'll find out.. I just can't pass it for that price..

Yeah, I know the price is very tempting. I am really happy with the quality of the items that I received regarding my lift. But the springs are just something I expected over time. Just not this quickly (about 3 years). I don't know pricing on Rancho but I know that a few members have their trucks lifted by their lift kits (I think a 4 inch lift).

Sorry that I can't be more help in regards to the RC 4x4 lift tho. GL in your search for lift!

Well first and foremost, no one (especially me) scolded you. Being you did not give full information about your truck or have it in your signature so there has to be some assumption. Im far from the age of a child and to prove that, I refuse to get into a pissing match with you.

Either way, i shared with you the quality of their products and mentioned there were no issues with them. Im happen to be in the 3rd Gen more than enough to know that being Im in every thread plus owning their products. (3 RC lifts)

Im sorry you are in whatever mood you are in but again, no one scolded you. I was just unaware you have a 4wd. Sorry for trying to help but I can assure you I wont next time.

I requested information about a specific part, which was in fact specific to a 4wd... YOU expounded on some off subject something.. I thank you for the information you did provide though.. it is reasonable that QC with them would reflect across the range of their products.

I have no clue what you are saying here.

uh, you did it again in your opening paragraph.. You're a funny rascal, no? I'm thinking I'll be just fine without your input.. The funny thing here is that you were simply wrong in the fact that they make a product you didn't think they make.. When that was pointed out, you pulled a tactic I'm more accustomed seeing from woman and children which is dig for a reason to point out how you could possibly be right.. Yessir, I'm thinking I'll be just fine out having to deal with that..
