Default Ques. about Gears

hey everyone. got a question about gears. if im running 35" mud terrain tires. what kind of gears should i run. my rig is a 2002 1500 4x4 QC with a 5.9 360 Magnum in it. will it also help my MPG as well

if you tow somewhat ocasionally i would go 4.56 but if you dont i would go 4.10

I'd normally say don't mess around and go straight to 4.56 gears, but this is primarily for a truck with a 545re transmission, which basically has two overdrive gears.

In your case, I'd say 4.10s would be perfect to balance power with fuel economy. If you are worried about MPGs, that would be your best bet. 4.56s would give you a bit more grunt, but would cost you some fuel economy on the highway. Both should give you better fuel economy in town over what you have now with 35" tires...

Yep, but like stated, without having that "extra" OD gear in the 46re he's gonna be taching a good bit higher than we are at 70+ mph which would do a number on his MPGs. This is why I kinda lean toward the 4.10 in the 2nd Gens, unless they are gonna be up over 37" tires...

nah...im goin to stay with 35" tires...and i dont tow alot maybe once every 6 months if that at all
