Looking at this ram 3500
I can't find anything else except this truck. Been looking at F250's and Chevy's with no luck. I really don't want a quad cab dodge because the back seats are too small.
What do y'all think of this truck? Only thing bad is the miles and I really don't want a 6 speed but it's the best bang for the buck right now plus I really like the mega cab's. We all party a lot so it's nice having the room to sleep in the back and carry all your friends in.
Anyone know what insurance is like for an 18 year old with one of these? I'd hate to have to get liability on it.
Really just looking to see if you guys think it's a good truck for the price.

my opinion.. it has super high mileage for an 06 i know its a diesel, dont jump to a decision i did and i reget it a little bit. Insurance depends on your driving record.. im 23 and i have a 2004 1500 qc 4x4 hemi and i pay 75 a month for full coverage. i paid that for liablity for my old truck but it was an 88. keep looking unless your certain you will not regret your decision. 170,000 is kinda high in my opinion good luck tho man i know it seems like youll never get a truck you like been there did that...
Something to consider, Those are 22" wheels so tires on that thing are going to be $400-$500 a piece unless you swap out to smaller wheels, the price seams a little low for that engine and year. Its a badass truck just its going to take some $$$ to keep it looking how it does right now. I don't know about registration where you are at but ****ty CA steals $300 from me every year for a 2003 1500 and $500 for a 2002 f350 PSD. Being 18 you prolly are going to do what I did and go through all the calculations to see if you can afford a truck but trust me it's the other things that are going to kill you that you can't account for.
Well lets see gasser mega vrs. diesel mega? diesel wins. Cost for repairs? gas wins "it is cheaper." MPGs.? Diesel wins. How was the motor treated? side note thing. Oh the wheel cost just ask weed what his cost are on wheels? (lol) Plus like weed said diesel motors aren't really broke in till they hit 100,000 miles I believe it is maybe it is 2. Ah anyway it is over a 100k. so you should be good to go. My opinion look at what it will cost you in insurance and upkeep cost. Then go from there, cause last I checked diesel wasn't cheap! (Still wish I had a mega cab diesel though) Oh also I have seen that truck up for sell for quit a while to. Maybe a reason its not sold. Just some things to think about.
It has new tires on it so that's not an issue, I don't keep my vehicles long anyways, my last two cars I only had for two weeks till I sold them. The main thing is that I don't want to loose money a few months down the road when I get bored and try to sell it. Trying to do my research before I rush into something and I figured this was the place. The only thing I really don't like about this truck is the 6 speed, my SS camaro's and Trans am were 6 speed and they were fun for a while but they do get old kinda quick.
And yes the mega cab is a must, the quad cab Ram's are just too small in the back. Usually when we go out on the weekends I just sleep it out in my vehicles and the back seat room was awesome in my F250 plus usually I am the one hauling my friends around. I buy cars and resell them so that's why I want the diesel and the power is nice for pulling stuff.

If you're only going to keep it for two weeks, rent a U-haul truck and save yourself a lot of money. That's just plain retarded to buy a CTD Mega Cab and spend a bunch of money on a big lifted truck to turn around and sell it down the road. Find yourself something stock. It is going to be hard to find someone who wants to buy a Mega Cab Diesel lifted high on 37" tires and a 6" exhaust (which are LOUD)... especially with the price of diesel these days. Keep looking is my advise to you. Pass on this one.

Idk, I think I will pass on it depending on if I can get it for less. I would like to keep it a while. I need to have money left over to start another project and at $24k for this truck it's probably not going to work.
