Question Best Oil for High Mileage Ram Q/C Hemi

My 2007 Ram Hemi 4x4 has 147k miles on it now and I'd love to get some opinions on what the best brand and weight of oil is to keep this beast running excellent for at least another 147k miles.

Thanks for the input!

an 07 with 150k!!! Man, thats impressive. What have you been using as far as oil goes? It sounds like you have been doing it right, I would just stick to what you have been using unless you have oil burn off.

Yep, stay with what you're using as long as none is disappearing. To answer the question, I use Pennzoil Hi-Mileage 5w-30 in my '03 (at "only" 108K)

yep, I would agree. Back in the day, we'd all go to like 20w/50 oil as our old V8s got old and started burning and/or leaking oil BUT with tolerances in these newer engines it's not wise AND with MDS you really can't go to anything other than 5w/20 anyway...

Excellent. This has basically been my school of thought all along. There are no oil leaks or burns or anything wrong so I suppose I won't try to fix something that aint broken!

Good point Hammer...

Like hammer stated, our trucks with MDS (unless disabled with a programmer) require a 5w20 oil viscosity in order for the system to work properly. Keep running which ever brand of oil you run. I run 5w20 Mobil 1 with a Mobil 1 filter or Wix filter...
