Default 4th gen rental sucks.

Ok I recently took my 06 nightrunner in for body work and have been given a 2011 ram with the 4.7l for a rental. The truck just seems so much smaller than mine. It has no ***** and is just over all a lot different from mine. I do have to say it rides smoother than my 06 but it seems smaller inside and out. As for power it also just doesnt compare to my hemi. Even with it being smaller and having less displacement it only gets 1mpg better than my hemi.

I thought the same thing when my brother bought his 10. He brought it over to show me, and I was checking out the back seats, and it seems so crammed inside his QC when compared to mine. I do like the new Dash on the 4th gen, and that the hood and grill are separate pieces, but I love my 3rd Gen, and I have had two of them

You can't compare the 4.7 to the Hemi, though. Try driving a new Ram with the Hemi!! Look out! 396bhp...that's pretty good for stock!

actually the 08up 4.7s are pretty close to the 08down hemis.

Not really. While the 08+ 4.7L got a much needed power jump they are still way behind the 5.7L HEMI's( 03-08 ). The power jump for the 4.7L puts it in the class of the GM 5.3L not the HEMI.

03-08 5.7 = 345 HP & 375 FTLBS
08+ 4.7L = 310 HP & 334 FTLBS( max #'s I have seen - on the Ram truck site right now they list power #'s for 2011 4.7L at 302 HP & 329 FTBLS )

I've got a hunting buddy who has a 2010 Ram 1500 QCSB 4x4 Hemi.

The truck has good power and handles like a sports car on curvy roads. Obviously what they were going for with coils front and rear.

But we pulled close to 8000# of tractor, rough cut and trailer with it about 30 miles one day and I'll be honest, it was downright scary. Couldn't keep the truck tracking straight and was so bad that the guy asked me to drive it the 30 miles back when we were done cutting grass at our land. I found that at the end of only 30 miles I felt beat up and fatigued from having to fight the steering wheel so the truck and load wasn't all over the road.

My truck has pulled this combo probably a dozen or so times and was fine. I think they gave up a ton of hauling/towing capability for the "car-like" ride they were going for. The truck might be rated just as high as a 3rd Gen, but in real world working conditions, it's not in the same league IMO.

I think that what Hammer described is very important. If you want to have a real truck stick with 3rd Gen but if you wanna car that looks like a truck go with 4th Gen

Yeah, you're probably right, but I was just saying for power, you can't compare the 4.7 to the Hemi. Those 4.7's have pretty good power, but I love my HEMI!!!
