Exactly. Just like with the Wrangler HP's. Everybody says they're crap, but I have to probs with them.

Orange Fram filters are the worst built. They the only ones I know of with cardboard
endcaps. The carquest in my town has one at the front counter cut open for people
to see. They won't sell the Frams and have that there to show customers why.
Most filters are built like this:

Size: 48.9 KB

Fram orange like this:

Size: 45.8 KB

I always see plenty other brands for about same price.

i dunno. I'll prolly just stick with a standard mopar filter. Or try wix. I think K&N flow a bit better but not really worth the extra dough. Espesially with my truck being bone stock.

For the most part I agree with you, but when I see data by a testing facility or a performance shop who I deem would not benefit from such test reporting, I would tend to lean that way.

Too much data out there supporting how poorly the Fram filters are made for me to take a chance when there are so many viable options out there that get good reports for the same money.

Besides, I was using Wix filters with excellent results way before I ever heard anything bad about Fram. Why change?

I agree Hammer but it doesnt take much bad or misinterpreted info out there on the net to get a bad PR campaign brewing. Its like chit on TV, one day you hear tomatoes are great for you and promote heart care. Then next month you hear they promote strokes. You know what I mean? I will buy whatever is usually one sale but no way do I but those expensive K&Ns.

LOL, I'm running a K&N right now in my truck. Internally they are almost identical to the Mobil 1 filter, but that's not why I'm running it. It was free with a 5 Qt. jug of Castrol Syntec and a coupon at my local auto parts store last time I was due for an oil change. It's probably only the fourth time I've not used a Wix in my truck. The other times I used a Mobil 1 or Purolator Pure One, in each case, it was because they were on some kind of deal with oil purchase. Like Mobil 1, Mopar and Royal Purple filters, the K&N is made by Champion Labs and I trust Champion Labs filters regardless of whose name is stamped on it...
