Looking at Dodge quad cabs with a Hemi.
Yeah I like the 7.3 4x4 ext cab 5spd I have but looking at getting a 04 2500 4x4 quad cab Dodge plus it'll fit the kids better to.
If not just reading threads to see what problems I may have with a Hemi and the drivetrain.
I'd love to have a Cummins but mostly looking at automatics which is why I'm selling my truck and from what I've read about the Hemi it's not a bad engine.
I don't know much about what else to look for though when looking at a vehicle except the usual oil, trans fluid color/smell, coolant, seeing if there is any leaks from the bottom of the truck.
Anything else I may need to look at or advice is greatly appreciated.

The HEMI is a great motor...hampered by a not so great, because of gearing, automatic transmission. If you plan on towing (7 to 8,000 pounds or more) with your truck you will be disappointed with the gear ratios in the 545RFE transmission. The truck really needs to have at least 4.10 or 4.56 gears to help, not resolve, the situation. A 2005 and up with the 6-speed manual would be desirable if you are going to tow heavy loads. Good luck!
I love mine and have zero issues with it but I do a lot of maintenance all the time. Try this link though
