Default Cold weather washing suggestions...

Anybody have any unique ways to wash your trucks in cold weather? Those of us in the midwest through the northeast are having a heck of a time keeping the trucks clean; especially if yours' doesn't fit in a garage.

I use my leaf blower to try to dry my truck before anything freezes.

Do any "waterless" washes work well without freezing?

I go to the local drive-thru wash... YOu drive up, put your money into the machine the door opens and you pull in.... Meanwhile the door closes behind you and the wash moves around you once your vehicle is in place... when you're done you pull out going past the blowers for up to 90 seconds... usually does the trick on my ram w/o the water freezing.... Occasionally the windows will freeze but not often.

I don't have a garage or outside water source at this time of year here in NH. Too darn cold anyway this year even if I did. I use the touchless car wash. They do a decent job and won't damage your paint like the ones with the spinning brushes and hanging octopus like stuff. I actually have vinyl graphics on the truck as well and the TF washes don't hurt them. A huge bonus is they offer an under carriage wash as part of it. Very important if you live in areas that use road salt and chemicals to wash the under carriage every 2 weeks or so.

-22 in the desert, yikes!

Maybe I should have been a bit more specific. My truck does not fit through your "drive though" car washes; I do use the do-it-yourself "super washes" in the winter. I was hoping somebody out there had some creative ideas to share.
AS NHHEMI stated, it is important to clean off the salt every once in a while.

well one thing to remember if u live in a place that uses road salt or calcium to help melt ice or prevent ice.

I lived on canada's east coast(maritimes) for most my life and they just plaster the roads in salt

Now if i remember right salt & calcium dont get activated when its lower than -15 say its cold below that for however long that is not to wash your truck due to activating the salt or calcium till its warmer.

Like last month i didnt wash my truck for a solid month due to it was -20 to -52 so didnt make sence to wash until now.Just something the old man taught me

I love how salt works but i have seen what it can due to a vehicle my sister has a 05 civic and after 3 years washed frequently in warmer winter weather the rust on it is unbelievable most common place fenders bumpers and rockers so glad i live out here when salt is barly used mostly calcium/sand mixture well enough rambling
