Skyjacker lifts are great. I had one on my 02 1500 and now have one for my 05 (both were w rear springs though). No problems at all. THey are top notch lifts. We have had them on 4 other vehicles and have been WAY happy.
Rough Country makes a great kit as well. I have had one or two of these as well. Great for the $$$ for sure.

 

I just want to make sure that this money is getting spent of top notch equipment. I don't want to take chances

 

I just put a 4-5" rough country lift on an '02 4x4.. A couple guys I work with have a shop on the side and they did the install.. They said the components were all well made and strong, but that not all the tapped holes aligned..

by the way, I had a level kit on the truck before, and had tossed my OE keys.. I used the +2.5" keys with the lift.. and it is higher than 5".. It's more like 6.5" now, with about the same tension on the torsion bars as was before the leveling kit..

My leaves were in horrid condition so I went ahead and put on some skyjacker softride leaves, which are +3" from stock height by themselves, and w/ a 2" block under them- the truck sits dead level..

I run 35" tires and they are borderline too small.. I'm likely going to drop the 2" blocks from the rear and lower the torsion bars some.. I too subscribe to Hammer's theory of '35" tires on a IFS at the most"..

As far as the quality, I think the RC is really good for the $$.. I'm glad I didn't have to do the install though..

 

How much was the Rough Country lift???

 

The shop that quoted me mine said they could get me one for 850.00 The lowest i could find online was 989.00

 

I missed out on one for $500.. dang it..

I ended up paying $1100, with rough country shocks and skid plate.. the skyjacker softride leaves were another $600.. Install for peanuts, but only because i know the guys who did it really well.. they usually charge $500 for install.
