well i removed and cleaned the TB this afternoon and i have to say at 120k miles it had some residue buildup but i didnt think it was horrible or anything, i cleaned using a microfiber towel and brake cleaner making sure i got the edges of the butterfly valve as well.
but my question is does this really help that much? i mean yeah it had some residue buildup but not to where it looked to be disrupting airflow!
the buildup thickness at the worst spot was maybe the thickness of a piece of paper! just curious.

2500, no EGR valve. You should see the TB on a 1500 at only 30k miles...

Yeah, you were due/overdue, but the EGR valve in the 1500s dumps crud right behind the plate in the TB and really makes a mess of it...

thanks for the info! i also bought a chip from www.gforcechips.com but it wont arrive for another week or so.
i also plan on going with electric fans! i too heard they can save quite a bit! probably have to wait till summer though!
gotta say the throttle spacer is foreign to me though! not quite sure what that is or how it works?

DO NOT PUT THAT CHIP IN YOUR TRUCK!!!

There have been posts on here about that chip - ALL negative. It is a total waste of money and time.

Here:

http://www.performancechips.com/g-fo...ip-reviews.php

http://www.performancechips.com/perf...p-reviews.html

Average vehicle with this chip installed LOSSES 8-15 HP and LOSSES 3-10 MPG!!!
Also they are rated as having one of the worst return policies.

IMO you need to try to get out of that sale...
