Default Seafoam?

How do I know if my truck needs a seafoam treatment? And if it does what is the best way to go about doing it?

Follow the directions on the can - 1/3 can in the tank, 1/3 in the crankcase just prior to an oil change and 1/3 slurped up through the brake booster hose. May be hard to judge when it's needed. Sea Foam wants you to do it every oil change. I think once a year is 'bout right.

Thanks for the reply. I have never used seafoam before and I just bought my truck so really I didn't have a clue. Never messed with this before so maybe oughta find a buddy in the area and get a hand the first time.

Couldn't hurt, but it is a really easy chore. Probably time to clean the throttle body, too.

I did it on my 03 and and not much changed. my brother did it on his '99 dakota and it helped it quite a bit....I'd say you don't really need it yet with your truck being so new.

And YouTube is such an authority. Pay that no mind. Sea Foam works just fine. May not cure all, but it won't hurt if used correctly.

Brilliant statement - So how much dilution is done by five ounces of Sea Foam in 900 ounces of oil?

i dont know where u went to school but for ex. the 4.7 holds 6 quarts of oil which is 192 ounces so 5 ounces into 192 is 38.4% thats a pretty good dilution if u ask me
