Default question about the baffle below my oil fill cap 4.6L 2002 Ram 1500

Long story but I lost the baffle that goes below the oil fill cap. How important is it to get a rfeplacement or will I be fine just with the oil fill cap screwed on?

I replaced mine - it costs like $3 at the dodge garage. As for importance, from what I read it just hides some of that nasty crap you see....

usually they are equipped with a baffle if you have a pcv valve to protect the pcv valve from condensation but some oil fill locations dont have a pcv valve then i wouldnt worry about it as much

And just to throw a correction out there, you have a 4.7. Not a 4.6.

Excuse me moderator but how is my question not a technical question about my truck? Does it hurt to run engine without this baffle?
