I am installing a backup camera, it has two wires, red and black that I have to splice into. Black is ground and red is power, but i have a hard time locating which wire is best to splice into for power. Is there an ideal location to splice this red wire into?

 

The easiest way is to get your meter out and test for a wire in the trailer harness or tail light harness that has 12v when the truck is in reverse and 0v when not in reverse.
