10 mpg will require a radiator-cap upgrade.

I never understood why some people over complicate the simple things. My Taurus fan was $25 from the local junk yard. My controller was $40 from Advance Auto

Lots of people have the Taurus or Lincoln "junk yard" fans. It's just I would hesitate to recommend that setup to someone who isn't at least a shade tree mechanic.
Some people need docs and a full kit. Plus for the guys who pay for the labor, I doubt you'd find many shops who would install a fan out of a junk yard and stand behind it...

weed i hear ya man!
im sure i could do it alot cheaper with some used or ebay stuff, but ive never had to mess with any kind of a fan swap out and as soon as i mention it everyone starts telling me i need this and that so i figure i better do it the right way first! well not that used isnt the right way but you know what i mean.
its something i wont do for awhile anyway since it isnt gonna help much in any single category!

I know Hammer and I understand. I just hate to see guys blow 300+ for a fan setup.

It's not too bad. As long as you go the "pick-n-pull" route, you can get out for under a c-note. Assuming a 1-mpg-improvement, you'll break even in about 3,000 miles.
