Default QUESTIONS on getting an e-fan conversion started!

so im wanting to get rid of that airboat prop on my engine and switch over to e-fans but im really unsure of where to start because ive never messed with them before!
i was looking on e-bay and was wondering if something like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-10-...mZ160550391414

is what im looking for????
also im guessing that i would just un-bolt the fan from the hub and install the electrics right?
although im sure theres something involved with wiring them into the temp sensor doohicky thats gonna confuse me, anyways am i on the right track here?

I don't see a reference to airflow. You need ~3,300 cfm to cool a Hemi. Probably that much for a 4.7, too. I doubt a 10" fan could even come close.

well that particular sale is for 2 of the 10" fans and i figured both would fit!
they also have 12" fans but thank you for the numbers as i have looked at others that publish their cfm figures.
im really just getting started here and have not actually "decided" on those fans! im just trying to nail down a jump off point.
i looked at the diy section and didnt really find anything that pertained to my truck or set-up.
im positive more than a few of you guys have probably done this exact change on your trucks so im guessing someone can point me in the right direction.

I would be hesitant to put any fan(s) in until I knew both how much CFM it (they) pulled and how many amps it (they) draw.

I put my e-fan in my truck when it was less than a year old and I went with a Flex-a-Lite kit because even though it was more money, it was an all-inclusive kit. I wasn't about to chance a less than one year old engine in a $30k plus truck to an ebay fan or one out of a junkyard (even though some have gone that route with no problems).

Many of the fans you see listed don't pull near enough CFM (I would say 2800 should be the minimum) and draw stupid crazy amps. My Flex-a-Lite pulls 3300 CFM while only drawing 18 amps. Yeah, it cost me over $250 but IMO was well worth it.

hey guys as always thanks for the great info on the flex a lite fans!!
i found a reman. for like $209.00 so i gotta ask one more question,
what kind of improvement did you all get from running these?
im guessing more in the mpg category than power improvement?
how many mpg's? 1? 2?

I got a solid 1.5 mpg in town, not much if anything on the highway. This makes sense as the clutch fan is less parasitic as the rpms climb. You should find that the truck will get rolling from a dead stop with a good bit less throttle with an efan as that's when a clutch fan is really robbing you the most.

I've not dyno'd mine, but saw an '05 QCSB 4x2 get one before and after the efan and it gained 14 RWHP.

Installation is really easy. I found the hardest part was getting the damn clutch fan off. Ended up making a jig out of a 2x4 and a bolt to get it off with.

I just bought a spanner. That made it "cave man easy". I bet I ruined three or four screwdrivers

I don't know about the power increase. I guess it's there. Between the fan, the CAI, and the Magnaflows, that should be fifty horses or so. Don't think I buy that.

Fan is 12-15, CAI can be anything from a 5 HP loss to about a 8 HP gain and a cat back can be anything from a loss of 10 to a gain of about 15 depending on muffler and how it's done. So 50 ain't happening. If the CAI is sucking hot air from the engine bay, you are actually losing HP with it but gaining fuel economy.
