i bought my truck and the door ajar light was stuck on and i kept the dome light one, we had them 'fix' it before we picked it up and all they did was by-pass it so the dome light doesnt stay on. now the dome light doesnt work anymore and neither does my dim switch by my light switch.
im not to worried about that my question is is there anyway to get the door ajar light off without replacing the latch/control or wiring? could i just snip a wire and make it lose connection somewhere? i know what door its on and when i pull on all the wires it goes off and i let go and it comes back on. so i was thinkin there could be a wire i could snip.

its been like this for 2 years now im just getting sick of the 'ding' sound everytime i stop and go and looking at the door ajar light.
if theres no wire to snip im probably just gonna bust the bulb

The door latch assembly has the latch mechanism in it, the door ajar switch and dome light circuit in it. If you have issues like you are saying then you either have a broken wire in the door boot or the latch assembly needs to be replaced.

So get out there and check those wires in the door boot for any that are broken or kinked. If nothing there then download the parts manual from the links ion my signature and get the part number for the latch assembly and buy one online (not from the dealer unless you got a lot of money)
