How do you tighten down the step pads? My drivers one is loose, and as mentioned above, the screw just spins. I don't want to be in a similar situation as the OP if I don't tighten them down.

They are probably self tapping screws which is why the existing ones wiggle now.

If it was me, I'd take the screws out of all of them and hit the holes with a pop rivet...

Obviously you didn't read my previous post...

People underestimate the power of a good 3M adhesive. What years are these trucks with the loose pads?

My truck is a 2004...not sure about the other poster's.

Thanks for the insights. A pop rivet or an adhesive may be a good alternative.

Does anyone know who these step pads were manufactured to tighten? (Although there have been some good alternatives I would be interested in knowing the manufacturers intended installation procedure).

I have no idea who makes the steps, I know Mopar sources almost all of their aftermarket accessories though. For example, their CAI is an AEM with just a Mopar sticker where the AEM one is. Might be you can dig a little to find the source.

As for a procedure for "tightening" the pads, I doubt there is one. I'm of the opinion they are just fastened with self tapping screws which is why once loose, turning the screw does nothing. Poor design and I'd imagine use has simply rounded out the hole. If you can find a replacement step, I'd go the rivet route and remove the remaining screws and rivet those as well. 3M tape is a great product that I've used many times, but I question how long it will last on a step, especially if you do not step straight down from the top on it every time. Some side movement from pushing off of it is gonna wear the tape eventually and you are gonna be right back to square one...

I did read it, when I try to remove them, they just spin. Do the plastic pads have clips as well that hold it into the tube?

If it's stripped out self tapping screws you'll usually need to apply a little upward pressure to unscrew them out. If you can get a grip on them with some pliers you can twist them out while lifting up...
