It's hard to give a specific parts list because this is a custom mod and many people do them differently as far as where they choose to place the filter and tube size.

But in essence you need a length of PVC, a couple of elbows (usually 90*, but 45* are used sometimes for subtle turns), a boot to attach it, some paint and depending on where you stick it and how long it ends up being, you may need to fab up a support bracket. Some people will also make some sort of heat shield, some will re-use the stock air box and some won't worry about heat shielding at all...

The best thing to do is go get you some parts and start building it right on the truck, taking measurements as you go and fitting it in piece by piece.

Wow that looks oddly similar to something I posted awhile back. If you want more info here is the topic I started, the detailed list is in post #41 of this topic.

I recently did my truck but I took it into the factory air box. This is what it took:
1-3" street 90 (I used a spectre street 90 it mas male on both ends so I didn't have the big pvc shoulder, thought it looked a little nicer)
1-3"x12" piece of pvc(I switched to pvc after using diamond plate stainless steel, afraid of heat saturation with the ss)
3-3" "no hub" rubber connections (they come with clamps)
1-1"o.d.x1/2"i.d. rubber grommet ( for my air temp. sensor)
Sorry about the crappy pic camera was dead so I had to use my cell phone. If you need a better pic let me know and I will post one tomorrow.

Ricer
Just curious, how does it sound coming out of the stock box and getting rid of the HAT? I am assuming you have a stock or K&N air filter installed in the box?

It's a little "throatier" has a little deeper sound to it, especially when you get on it. But where I really noticed the difference was in the throttle response.

so whats the best method for attaching the mass airflow sensor into the side of the pvc tube?
should it be a certain distance away from anything?
