Default Best year for Dodge ?

I'm looking to buy a new truck this summer.

Here's what I need:

3/4 ton
Cummins
Rear gull wing doors (club cab?)
4x4
Auto
Also gotta stay in the $20,000 range

What's the best year for the auto?

I've read the 2005's were great.

Any input?

2004.5 to 2007 models with the 5.9. They got a nice power boost in mid '04 making a mid year or '04.5 model up to the '07 when they split between the 5.9 and 6.7 in what was again a mid year change.

IMO they still don't have the 6.7 right with all the govt. mandated emissions crap.

good luck finding one for 20k with less than a trillion miles.

IMO the 5.9 in a 2006/2007 would be your best bet if you can find a decently priced one

yeah 04 to 05 is a real good choice i would personally look for an 04 with a little lower mileage! better price range, 05 not any better than an 04 and will be cheaper

it's the '03-'04 that has the injector problems, from what I hear, there is NO difference at all between an '04.5 and an '05...
