Default Thoughts of this truck purchase

New to the forum! Love it here!!

At the moment, I have a 2007 Silverado as a daily driver and a '01 F350 to haul my race car. Its been a good set up, but the 350 is pushing 300K miles and its about that time, so Im trading in both and really looking at this truck..

and theres this.. http://www.decodethis.com/Default.as...KS29D76G172301

I want a mid sized truck of the two that i have now, dont really want diesel since Im only hauling the car every other weekend and best and its a 30 mile drive.
Ive read good and bad about the Hemis. And im totally clueless about GVWR and towing so heres my questions....

Will this truck easily haul a 28' PACE enclosed trailer with approx 3k inside?

What is normal MPG on Hemis

Any "common" issues?

I know the mega cab w/Hemi is not the best combo, but the shortest person in our family is 5"11, so the added leg room is needed.

Thanks guys

I can add my 2-cents on the mpg for an 07 Hemi, 1500, 4X4 Quad cab. My daily commute to work is 40 miles round trip, 5 days a week, and the best I ever get is around 15mpg. Pull a trailer around in tow/haul mode and you may see the mpg go to single digits. If you are looking at Mega Cab, you may want to seriously consider the Cummins power plant.

You will have plenty of leg room. Does it have dual air? Many mega owners are disappointed in the air conditioner unless it has the dual air option.

a 1500 with a hemi can easily haul 5000lbs all day

just make sure it has 3.92 gears

and the quad cabs are fairly big, try one out before you decide you want a mega-cab
also the mega-cab is on a 2500 frame with a soild front axle (SFA), a 1500 has Independent front suspension (IFS)

a stock 1500 hemi quad cab 4x4 will get about 16-18 mpg Hwy and 12-14 city mpg and 10-12 mpg towing 5000lbs

So is cost of fuel / MPG better with a diesel or a gasser?

i can say with my diesel i get 12 to 13 MPG pulling 5 snowmobiles in a 4 place enclosed trailer through some decently hilly terrain.
my buddy pullling 4 snowmobiles on a 4 place trailer gets 8 to 9 MPG with a HEMI but he has 3.55 gears
my truck has 3.73 gears

diesel here is 4.12 per gallon and unleaded is 3.76 per gallon
