I've been thinking about adding the lights to my truck, I'm just unnerved about everything involved.

I've been thinking about having the dealership install a stock set, but I'm not exactly sure what that would run. I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap though.

Hell, I did it long before there were DIYs or anything. If you get a template or measure carefully, you are golden. Also remember, silicone is your friend!

In my case, I also found a six pack right before drilling the holes helps with the confidence factor.

I used the clear ones from Recon (where we get a 15% discount btw), mainly because I wanted the chrome bases to match all my stainless steel and diamond plate trim, but I've often thought about taking the clear caps off and replacing them with smoke ones.

Those are the one's I've been eying for months now.

Do you just wire it into the parking lights? Not sure how it works without the stock lights, and I'm running out of places to mount switches, rofl.

That's not a bad price at all. I had like $80 in the lights and it took me a good 2 1/2 hours to install it. I'd be able to do it in prolly about an hour and a half the next time though, I got like paranoid **** about measuring before I drilled the first hole.

So if you got someone to do well over an hour in labor for $50 (assuming they have about the same $80 in lights and materials) then that's a SUPER deal. I just hope they don't leak on you, all too many times there is a reason why someone charges a good bit less for their labor than the going rate.

Times sure are changing. Used to was most of the enjoyment of modifying your vehicle was doing the work yourself...
