Default Should I only Install Muffler?

Hey guys, just checked with a muffler shop who told me they can re use my existing exhaust pipes if it's stainless, and just install a new Magnaflow muffler. Does that sound right? I don't want to get suckered in by a cheap price. I have an 08 Hemi QC.

Have you had factory exhaust replaced?

and it depends on what you want out of it. Nice sound? then jsut stick with a bolt-on muffler.

if you are looking for performance, you want an aftermarket exhaust. If you're gonna do that, do it right the first time. pacesetter long tube headers, nice x or y pipe, and then straights with cat delete

wish my truck had that!

Id say what you should do is get yourself the muffler that you want to get and also look into gettin a new y-pipe..the stock y-pipe on the exhaust is really crushed and doesnt flow the way it should. Magnaflow has a good y-pipe that i just put on mine. Cost me $25 to get it. Other than that, if you dont want the full performance, then that is the route you should take. If you want the performance, then id do what bart said.

No, I haven't had the factory exhaust replaced. I'm assuming everything is stock at the moment.

I'm thinking about getting long tubes, but I want to stay within my means for now. This will be my first major mod except for the tuner. I think a y pipe and muffler is a good starting point, I will work my way toward a nice set of long tubes... assuming lame *** cali will let me lol.

Thanks guys, appreciate the info.

I haven't done anything yet. These guys are bs ing me, I'm getting a full cat back, and they want to shove me out the door as quick as possible. Probably going somewhere else.

Similar situation for me a two months ago. Ended up getting a Dynomax Ultra Flo cat back via Summit, 2hr rollin on my creeper in my driveway and it was on. Now whenever I drive by that shop that jerked me around I give a lil extra throttle. Ha ha!

The kicker, my factory y-pipe is not crimped!
