Niteshaded my rear lights
Man looking at everyone else tails, i straight up blacked mine out. Ive already got two tickets but they are fix-its and I have two buddies with the same truck to swap to get the ticket written off and pay the $25. So it is worth the gamble.
You can also be sued for damages due to contributory negligence even if you are rear-ended by someone if your tail lights are tinted. Punitive damages could be quite high if someone was injured.
I'm not trying to tell anybody NOT to shade light covers, but merely pointing out the possible repercussions. A lot of places are coming out with laws/ordinances about this kinda stuff lately. I got a cousin failed state inspection last year just because he had cut-outs on his exhaust even though they worked perfectly and he was in compliance when they were closed. Just the fact he had them was a fail.
