Default Truck frame

So I need some pretty smart people to settle a disscusion here at work. The 1/2 ton frame, 3/4 ton frame, and 1 ton frame, are they the same frame save for the length of wheel base or are they different?

I have owned a 06 Dodge Ram 2500 and my present truck a 07 Dodge Ram 1500 and these two trucks have much differant frames when it comes to the size of the frame. The 2500 frame is much thicker (taller from top to bottoom). Plus I believe the 2500 metal is thicker to. But I never had these trucks side by side so I am not absolutely positive on the thicker metal.

The 1500 is a completely different animal than the 2500/3500 setups which have more in common. The DRW 3500 is also much different.

Thanks for the good info guys, now is there anywhere on the web I can find this to prove to this guy? I know him well enough that he isn't going to believe it unless there is some sort of visual proof............maybe if I put m,y 2500 next to another co-workers 1500?????

nothing more proving than seeing it with your own eye's. Have some one you know park next to you with their 1500 and have him crawl under there and look for himself.

I wished the truck beds were stronger on the 3/4 & 1 ton trucks.

You have a very good logical point there. Being that the truck is built to carry more weight then it should follow that the bed would be built stronger. I warped the bed out of shape on my 06 Ram 2500. I had what is called a recluse towing unit in it (made for repossesing cars) and the bed sort of warped. To where the rear of the bed was narrower than the front of the bed. The tail gate wouldn't fit the truck any longer.
