Ok...I started snooping around on this forum about a year ago but just became a member about two weeks ago. Gotta say i love it... and have really learned alot from a bunch of people on here. This is a great place to get some real good info and mod idea's. I'm hooked! Anyway, a little about me. I was raised chevy all the way and that's all i ever owned from the day i started driving almost 30 years ago. My brother who is 4 years younger than me, bought a 1998 ram 4x4, i borrowed it from him to drag a camper to darlington s.c. and back. Well, i fell in love with that truck. It was'nt long after that...i bought a 2000 ram 4x4 standard cab short bed. I drove that truck for 6 1/2 years and never had a single problem with it. Then i decided it was time for a new truck, my 2000 was starting to rot and i wanted a hemi and a quad cab. After looking at new trucks for awhile, i stumbled onto my current ride. A 2008 Bighorn QC 4x4 in sunburst orange. Only a year old, and for the difference in price over a new one...i could'nt pass it up. The guy that bought it new had it for 9 months then decided he wanted a 3/4 ton with the plow package. Thanks to him, i saved a ton of money.

I really like it as is, thats a sharp lookin truck. The ONLY thing I might change would be the tails, nightshade em or aftermarkets. I've just never been a big fan of those style. Colormatched eyelids? How many miles she got on er? Looks immaculate!

Yea its a great looking truck and I guarantee after the lift and new rims/tires it will be amazing.

Only critique I have is on the accessories. Alot going on. The harley and 4x4 stickers are kinda offsetting for some reason. they dont blend with the truck lol. The whole orange/red/chrome/black thing is alot to handle. I know you got the black rims so if you did a matched grille and black accents it would look great in my opinion. The tails dont stick out as much to me but VHT would look good (I like the 07-08 tails)

Im not telling you what to do but rather what I would do. Its come together great and is close to what I started with look wise (I had chrome grille, bumpers, spears, heads, handles, rims, exhaust). Great looking truck anyway, and looks mean. One thing you could do is buy the bilstien 5100s to level it out and get a better ride, if I were 4x4 it would be a mod Id do

Matt, I completly agree with you that there is alot going on. Thats why i like this forum, alot of good suggestions. But, i am still a work in progress. I think after the lift and black wheels are on and i plasti dip the nerf bars, that should make a huge dif. Also i am thinking about color matching the flares...i put them on about 3 weeks ago and left em black to see how they would look. About 90% of my buddys say leave em black. I think they look like an after thought and dont flow with the truck. I will wait till the wheels are on and see how she looks. As far as the front end i want to bake/split/paint the headlights black. I plasti dipped the grill inserts the other day. My plan right now is to leave the grill frame and the bull bar as is. If my truck was black, i would black out everything like you did...your truck is sick! However, i am kinda like hammer, i like a little chrome on my truck. But he even suggested i color match or black out the chrome part of the front bumper...i am thinking black?
Thanks for the compliments, i have been thinking about the eyelids and the tails are gonna get something done to em. The truck had 19K on it when i bought it and now has 36K. I hope it treats me as good as my last ram did.

 

why dont you ask someone to do a photochop of the different color schemes? It would give you a cheaper way to tell if you like the changes.

 

i personally would lose the badges all over the truck. Remove the chrome gas door, just not my cup of tea. color match flares and all the chrome or get a sport package and paint that to match, and black the nerf bars as you stated you wanted to do. Very Very pretty truck though...
