Zeon LTZ or Terra Grappler or ...
Going to be in the market for some new rubber here shortly. Had enough of the stock Suckyears. Before you guys jump all over me I have been searching for about a week or so on here and havent really found the info that I would like to see.
Truck info is an 08, Quad Cab, 4X4, 20" wheels, 2" leveling kit.
I really like the Zeon LTZs and saw they recently have a new size (according to the cooper website). I also like the Terra Grapplers. Both around around the same price.
I would like to hear some reviews from guys that have actually run these tires.
Heres the sizes I was lookin at
275 / 65 / 20
305 / 55 / 20 (Need wheel spacer?)
Id like to hear mileage, handling, winter/slight offroad traction, and noise.
If you have something else that you really like please cooment as well.
Thanks

305/50/20 fits on the stock 20s with no problem. I don't know if 305/55 would clear.
I think the Terra Grapplers are a bit more aggressive, offroad type tire. I picked the LTZs because I don't do any driving like that but want to be able to use my truck as a truck if the need arises. At the same time I don't want to hear the tread screaming while going down the highway. They're 10x the tire the stockers were.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. The Zeons are considered a highway/all-terrain hybrid and the Terra Grapps are considered a true All-Terrain.
Both have above average ratings on dry & wet pavement, both are fairly quiet for a fairly aggressive tread. Both are known to be good as far as wear goes.
I had basically looked at both of these tires about two years ago when putting a 2" lift and replacing tires on my Grand Cherokee (daily driver). I decided on the Terra Grapps because they are just a bit more resistant to punctures and sidewall cuts.
Even though my truck is my main off-road (hunting, fishing, etc.) vehicle, I do take the Jeep off-road quite often camping, fishing, etc. and felt I wanted the little bit of extra strength in the compound.
That's not to say the Zeons are weak in that department either, just that the Nittos, being a true A/T are a little stronger.
Mainly road = flip a coin.
Little more off-road = Nitto.

Just after a quick look on Cooper's website and price checking on tread depot, those 275/65/20's are load range E tires, which is a heavier tire, but also substantially more expensive.
For example (using Tread Depot prices) a 275/60/20 LT Zeon (stock size) is going for 182 each, the 275/65/20 load range E tire is going for $290 each. Same thing with the 305/55's cooper only offers them in load range E. maybe thats what your looking for, but you can save some substantial coin by going with either the 305/50's or 275/60's in a standard LT load rating.
