As of Saturday, I no longer own a truck.. lol

I decided it was doing to much damage to my back as a DD, so I ended up checking out a Honda Accord CrossTour..

Long story short I ended up with a 2011 Charger R/T, couldn't swallow going from the Hemi to a V6 Honda, so I'm now the proud owner of a Hemi powered monster of a car..

Congrats on the change. Does that mean you will be on the LX board now?

Not exactly sure what the LX Board is, unless you're referring to the charger area, and I've already made one post there. It just seems kind of.. empty.. as compared to the 3rd/4th gen forums lol.

I miss my truck, but the more I ride in this thing, the less I do.. I think I'm going to shoot for a two seater Sport-R/T next year, keep both it and my car for a more viable (Aka fun..) for the foreseeable future.

Im having pretty much the same issue. I called 4wheel parts today to order the cepek dc2 17x9 and the cepek fc2 33x12.5/17. I told them I had the truck leveled but was told they will sell them to me and balance them but would not install them. The guy told me they will rub because of the backspacing on the rim and its a liability for them to install them. I just need to know if they will fit for sure without issue. I currently have the stock 20s and tires and in very light rain today I was sliding all over the road....literally! Its past time to upgrade. If I need to go a different route plz let me know. Id really like to stay with those rims and tires though.

Impulse buy much??? LOL... First you're looking at serious mods for the truck, then you end up buying a sports car on a whim? I did the sports car thing, myself though, but then I hit 20 and got it out of my system, LOL...

They are on MAJOR CRACK. I've had 4 Wheel Parts tell me more sh*t that was not true than 17 year old's here on DF!!!

Not to mention I'll be doing a mod on someone else's truck and send them to 4 Wheel Parts to pick it up and they come back with stories of guys behind the counter telling them how it won't work, or it has to be professionally installed because of this tool or that tool that is "special" and not available to the general public or some other crazy a$$ story. I've called to get a shock and been told it won't work for my application and had to tell them to get on their own shock database where it says it is the proper shock for a *****, lifted **** inches. The $8 an hour flunkies behind the counters there think they know it all!

I only deal with them because I have a store less than 30 miles away, they will price match and you don't have to pay shipping if it's sent to the store and you pick it up.

FWIW: I had a set of Mickey Thompson MTX mud tires put on my truck at my buddies tire shop 3 weeks after I bought it, 33x12.5x17, BONE A$$ STOCK, & ON THE STOCK WHEELS, which are terrible for wide tires, with not so much as a T-Bar crank and ran them while we waited for my Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels to come in. Not so much as a scrub at even full lock...

yeah, it seems to depend on who I talk to there I get dif info every time. Well I think Im going to order them through 4wheel and just pick it all up and take it to a local shop and have it all installed. Ive come to trust your word over any shop Hammer Yeah he was saying because they will stick out so much more from the stock rims that it will rub.

They will stick out MORE with the DC2 wheels by virtue of their backspacing than the stock wheels do. The exact opposite of what the guy is telling you. Besides, it's the width of the tire that hits internal steering components when they do rub - sticking out more moves them FARTHER than those components.

NOW, granted I have a torsion front end which yields more room for wider tires and had you said you were going to mount the 12.5" tires on the stock rims, I would have said it be close, might just scrub a bit at full lock, but with an aftermarket wheel with 4.5" of backspacing (negative offset) you will be fine.

When you go to 4 Wheel Parts, smack the kid for me...

My truck in late fall of '04, 33x12.5x17s, now this is with the Mickey Thompson Wheels - Identical backspacing as the DC2s. Suspension fully stock - notice the rake?
