Default God damn hail!

So today I was stuck looking for cover with no luck when a rather large hailstorm (for the area) broke out. Scrambled for 10 minutes to find cover before I found myself driving out of the storm. Pieces 3/4"-1" big and PLENTIFUL were falling.

My roof now resembles a golf ball with 30-40 dents in it and another 5 or 6 dents in my hood. Calling insurance company tomorrow to see if I even have hail coverage.

Couldn't get pics of the damage but I'm sure you can use your imagination what with the size of the hail.

ohh bad news. that sucks

I cant see the roof not popping out. That is such thin metal that it can probably be suctioned out unless its too deformed. Hood is another story, but you can upgrade to an aftermarket style!

Well the good news is I do have hail coverage on my policy. $500 deductable though. Time to get some estimates for repair.

Matt, you read my mind on the hood.

I've never done it but when I lived in Big Spring, Texas where they get hail all the time an old timer told me to just use dry ice. I guess you just put it on the dents and they pop out. Like I said I never done it but I have heard several differant times since that it works.

My wife got cought in a bad hail storm 6 or 7 years ago with her Monte Carlo SS (she drives a Dodge Charger now) but it looked horrific. The insurance covered it minus the deductible...paintless dent repair, and it looked great when they were done with it. You would never even know it happened. Good Luck.

Well the bad news....turns out my deductable is $1000 (which I don't have right now). Rough estimate to fix the roof on its own was about $1000 so looks like I'm going to do some DIY dent removal.
