seat foam fix
Who's done the drivers seat foam fix?
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-the-cure.html
I would like to do this, but it looks like he has used some items that may be tough to find. Maybe I just dont know where to find them. I dont have a Hobby Lobby near me. I would also just like any other tip, tricks, or pics that someone else may have done.

So you went with 2- 1" pieces as well? What kind of foam is it? The burlap at the fabric shop too? So the original seat cushion is the same, fix if torn and then just add the 2 layers underneath with burlap over the springs? You just hammered over the edge as well?
Okay I took the cushion out, and inspected it. Sure enough the drivers side hump was broken up. I cut out the broken up part, cut a piece of the new stuff and filled it in with that. Then I sprayed the entire bottom with adhesive, and then put a towel over it. Obviously the towel was precut to fit the bottom and about an inch of the sides. You dont need burlap
I just took a hammer and beat the rough edge down. The rough edges naturally flatten out.
For the extra foam, I put a 1.5in piece in the very center and a one inch on the humps. I think the 1.5in is too thick, I might would even go with one inch foam. Its the high density memory foam BTW.

i did this used 1" and its all good, on the bottom i used some good fabric like canvas stuff and it worked good, ill be honest all mine was free as i used old couch i was tossing out as i got new ones...all the stuff was perfect...ive never seen 4" foam with 1" foamon top and bottom in a couch cushion before...lol

Did everyone have to take out the seat or is it possibly to repair it while in the truck.
How long did it take??
I'm planning the same repair before anything gets worse. I have no tears yet but I'm not waiting for it to happen.
Also does the flat part of the seat center section creases have that Velcro attached??
So I understand from what Matt said that he glued a towel under the bottom cushion. Someone had mentioned vinyl in another thread I wonder if a towel would eventually wear and then tear vs vinyl.
Weedhoe, you mention you did your a while back how far back to determine how long it's help up.
I'm planning to add the 1" to the top and bottom also. My driver door side of the seat (hump) is already collapsing. So I wanna take care of extremely soon before the tears in the material sets in.
