What were the signs that your front diff was going to fall apart?
I am asking because i have a 07 RAM 4X4 TRX with all wheel drive, it make a grinding/ howling sound and i feel grinding in the gas pedal.
The dealer told me i needed new front hubs on both sides for a cost of $1000.00 installed.
Yup i had it done and the truck still has the same problem doesnt matter what speed iam going it still doing it.
Any advice?
Thank you.

Hell, they are $125 at my local auto parts store for Timkens no less. About an hour a side to replace, faster if you have a lift. Either you needed more than just the hub assembly or your dealer should be reported for price gouging.
Grinding in the gas pedal? You have fly-by-wire (throttle is electrically controlled by sensors of how much pedal you press) there is nothing mechanical there that should grind at all.
When's the last time you changed the transfer case fluid? Them all-wheel-drive deals can be picky for just the right fluid and can get real nasty sounding when the fluid gets old. I believe specs call for 30,000 miles max.
Oops, I just saw where you posted it was a Canadian dealership. Can't report them, I don't believe you have price gouging laws on the books up yonder...

What makes me mad is the Chrysler MSRP on parts, hell I have trouble selling jobs because of that. The labor is never really an issue.

MSRP on parts? Hell how about the crazy inflated MSRP on the trucks themselves? I got a cousin bought a brand new '08 Hemi Bighorn QCSB 4x4 off the lot for just over $24k when the '09s started to roll out. He still has the sticker off the thing showing $46,000 MSRP!!!
What kills me is these guys who are dumping their trucks right now because of gas going up. They bought the things for $20k OFF of MSRP, but NOW they gripe when the dealer won't give them FULL retail value on a trade.
This over-inflated MSRP is bad business - PERIOD!!! You'd think these people with a hell of a lot more degrees than I have would realize it only works to DE-VALUE their product...
