Yep, MegaCab 1500 is on a 2500 chassis and is SFA. There are a couple of minor differences between the Mega 1500 & 2500, but IMO, they should classify them as a 2500/3500 because a MegaCab 1500 shares almost nothing with the 1/2 ton 1500s...

I always wondered why they ever had a Mega Cab 1500. I just assumed it was marketing, for the people who didn't want an HD pickup LoL

gotcha, I never knew they even made megacab 1500 till a guy in my town bought one. That is dumb though, if its a 2500 at heart why put the 1500 sticker on it.

Does a 1500 cost less to insure than a 2500?

Possible? not really sure, the newest truck we have is my dads 04 cummins and that is like 150 for 6 months, full coverage. Which is bull because my truck was over a gran for full coverage, and no one on our plan has had a claim. Atleas tnot one our insurance had to pay. They actually had a 06-07 megacab 2500 a couple months ago, 5.9L, 6spd, 100k miles. I really wanted my dad to buy it, minaly for our sled trips out west. I wana say it was $22K.
